It is typical to see a pod of Dolphins frequent the Ship Channel, they chase fish up and down along the seawall at Robert's Point Park just before sunset. (Also perhaps Early in the Morning & Midafternoon). Robert's Point Park provides a paved walking path adjascent to the Seawall allowing for a front row seat! The Dolphins amaze, excite & inspire... bringing smiles to the faces of the people who stop to watch the majestic grace of these beatuiful native mammals as they hunt for food.
Great for people of all ages, the "Big Tree" is on State Park Road 13 just before Lamar Beach Road. After visiting the "Big Tree" follow the turn and cruise along the shoreline.
Paradise Pond is a critical resource for migrating birds including smaller warblers, buntings & tanagers to name a few. The boardwalk is wheelchair accessible with 3 observation decks and an additional sitting area in the entrance which allows for close up viewing of the many species that use this beautiful place.
Centrally located in Port Aransas, this easy drive to the Birding Center is a treat! Featuring a Botanical walking trail, the path winds around and over the wetlands and Lake. Enjoy the viewing towers and magnifying scopes available for Bird & Nature Lovers of all ages. The fortunate (or not so fortunate) folk who make their way along the path may run into resident ALLIGATORS. Enjoy!
